Kingsbarn 14/1/12

We took Laguna Flame and Ruby Shy to Kingsbarn BSJA Show today. It was very busy but so cold! The competition was keen, with some strong opposition. There were 40 in Laguna Flame's British Novice class which he won by an incredible 5 seconds, thanks to a brilliant turn between the last two jumps. Ruby had over 50 in her class and came a very creditable 3rd. Ruby never looks to be going very fast but she consistently beats a lot of very fast horses because she is very economical over the jumps and is able to turn tightly. She beat more than a few professional riders yesterday. This means they have both got off to a strong start in the Arab Horse Society 2012 Performance Awards, gaining 35 and 25 points respectively for their achievements today.
